Which flag should I print for my business in Dubai?

It depends on where the flag will stand and how long it stays there. For a shop front or roadside promotion, a sail or teardrop flag on a concrete base is the usual choice, because the tall shape is readable from a moving car and the heavy base copes with afternoon wind. For an exhibition stand at Dubai World Trade Centre or ADNEC, an L-shape flag works better: the top arm holds the fabric open, so your logo stays readable indoors where there is no breeze. Car flags suit National Day and brand convoys. Table and conference flags are for meeting rooms, embassies and signing ceremonies. Hand held flags and pennants are made for crowds, schools and sports days. If you need height above a building line, a telescopic flag adjusts from 3.5 to 5 metres. Most businesses start with two or three sail or teardrop flags and add others for events.

Flags we print

Each type below has its own page with photos, sizes and ordering details.

Sail flags

Also called feather or blade flags. The tall, curved top catches the eye from the road and gives plenty of room for a logo, phone number or website.

Knitted polyester or satin, single-sided. Concrete base for medium and large sizes, water base for small ones.

Teardrop flags

The rounded frame keeps the fabric tight, so the design reads clearly whether the air is still or gusty. A good pick for car showrooms, restaurants and beach events.

German knitted polyester, small to large sizes.

L-shape flags

A horizontal arm at the top holds the flag flat, which is why they are common at exhibition stands and hotel entrances.

One-side knitted polyester, or satin glossy printed on both sides, for medium and large sizes.

Car flags

Clip onto a car window for National Day, sports fans and company convoys. A cheap way to put a brand on the road for a few weeks.

Taffeta satin glossy or German knitted polyester on a 38 cm white plastic pole. Double-sided, or single-sided with a mirror image on the back.

Table flags

For reception desks, meetings between two companies or two countries, and conferences. Available as a single flag or a dual stand.

Satin, printed both sides, with desk stand.

Wall mount flags

A bracket fixed to a wall, pillar or lamp post holds the flag out at an angle, so it hangs over a walkway or shop front where there is no floor space for a base.

Knitted polyester or satin?

German knitted polyester is the workhorse for outdoor flags. It is light, so it moves with the smallest breeze, and the ink passes through the weave. That means a single-sided flag shows your design on the front and a mirror image on the back. It also dries quickly and does not tear easily at the edges.

Satin glossy has a slight sheen and gives richer colour up close. It is heavier and does not let ink through, which makes it the better choice for table flags, conference flags, car flags and anything that needs to read correctly from both sides.

A simple rule: outside and moving, pick knitted polyester. Inside and close to people, pick satin.

Choosing the right base

Concrete and water flag bases for sail and teardrop flags, Dubai
Concrete, water and cross bases for outdoor and indoor flags.

Concrete base

The one to use for medium and large sail, teardrop and L-shape flags outdoors. The weight keeps a tall flag upright in the afternoon wind that picks up along the coast.

Water base

A plastic tank you fill on site. Fine for small sail flags and for indoor events, and easy to carry in a car because you empty it after use.

Ground spike and cross base

The spike pushes into sand or grass, useful for beach and park events. A cross base with a water bag suits hard floors where you cannot bring concrete.

Where each flag works in Dubai

The right flag is mostly decided by the site: how much wind it gets, how far away people will be, and whether it sits on sand, tiles or carpet.

  • Exhibitions at DWTC and ADNEC

L-shape flags at the front corners of the stand, since there is no wind in the halls. Concrete or cross bases sit on hard floors without drilling. Check the organiser's height limit for your stand before ordering.

  • Shop fronts and showrooms

Two sail or teardrop flags either side of the entrance, on concrete bases. Put the brand name at the top of the flag, where it stays visible above parked cars.

  • Beach and park events

Teardrop and sail flags on ground spikes. Knitted polyester copes with sea air and dries fast after an evening of humidity.

  • Malls and hotel lobbies

L-shape or satin flags on water or cross bases, since concrete is heavy to move through a mall service corridor.

  • Government and corporate meetings

Table flags and conference flags in matched sets, with UAE and guest country flags placed according to protocol.

  • Races, runs and school events

Hand held flags for the crowd, telescopic or sail flags at start and finish lines, and pennants for teams.

Keeping flags looking good in UAE weather

Summer daytime temperatures in Dubai regularly pass 45°C, and the sun is strong all year. Dye-sublimation printing bonds the ink into the polyester fibre, so colours hold up far longer than surface printing. Even so, a flag that stands outside every day will fade over months, and red and orange fade first.

A few habits make a big difference. Bring flags in during strong shamal winds and dust storms, because that is when poles bend and hems fray. Rinse fabric in cold water after a dusty week and let it dry before rolling it up. Keep a spare set for a permanent shop front, and swap them every few months.

What does flag printing cost in Dubai?

The price comes down to six things: the flag type, its height, the fabric, single or double-sided printing, the base, and the quantity. Across the UAE market, a small sail or teardrop flag with pole and base is usually quoted from around AED 150. Tall flags with heavy concrete bases cost several hundred dirhams, and unit prices drop as quantities go up.

If you already own poles and bases, you only need to reprint the fabric, which costs much less. Tell us what hardware you have when you ask for a quote.

Dates to plan around

Flag printing in the UAE is seasonal. Demand climbs sharply in October and November, and the busiest weeks fill up quickly.

October

Exhibition season starts at Dubai World Trade Centre. Order stand flags as soon as your booth design is confirmed.

3 November

UAE Flag Day. Offices, schools and government buildings raise the flag together, and pole and hand flags sell out.

30 November

Commemoration Day. Many organisations order flags for this and National Day in the same batch.

2 December

National Day. Car flags, hand flags and building flags peak. Place bulk orders in October if you can.

Do you need a permit for an advertising flag?

Advertising in Dubai is regulated under Decree No. 6 of 2020, and an advertisement displayed in public view generally needs a permit, with the content approved by the advertising section of Dubai Municipality. Flags placed on a pavement, a roadside or a building facade fall into this. Flags inside your own stand at an exhibition, or inside a mall, are normally covered by the venue's own rules.

This is general information, not legal advice. Check with Dubai Municipality, or with your free zone authority if you are based in one, before placing flags on public land.

What to send with your order

The best file is vector artwork: AI, EPS or PDF. A high-resolution PNG or JPG at the final size works too. Photos copied from social media or WhatsApp profile pictures are usually too small and will print blurry on a 3 metre flag.

Keep phone numbers and small text away from the pole sleeve and the edges, where the fabric folds. Short messages read best on flags: a logo, two or three words and a number. If you only have a logo, our designers can lay out the flag for you.

How ordering works

  1. Send your details

Flag type, size, quantity, indoor or outdoor, and your logo or artwork. WhatsApp, email or the online order form all work.

  2. Approve the proof

We send a digital proof showing the layout on the flag shape. Changes are made before anything is printed.

  3. Printing

The fabric is printed, heat-set and stitched, and the poles and bases are prepared.

  4. Delivery

Flags are delivered to your address in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, ready to assemble.

Common questions

How much does flag printing cost in Dubai?

Price depends on flag type, height, fabric, single or double-sided printing, the base and quantity. Across the UAE market a small sail or teardrop flag with pole and base is usually quoted from around AED 150, while tall flags with heavy concrete bases cost several hundred dirhams. Send us your size, quantity and artwork for an exact quote.

What is the difference between knitted polyester and satin flags?

Knitted polyester is light and lets ink pass through, so a single-sided flag shows a mirror image on the back. It moves well in wind and suits outdoor sail and teardrop flags. Satin glossy has a sheen and brighter colour, and suits indoor, table, car and double-sided flags.

Which base should I use for an outdoor flag?

Use a concrete base for medium and large sail, teardrop and L-shape flags outdoors. A water base is enough for small flags and indoor use. A ground spike works on sand or grass, for example at beach events.

Do I need a permit to put an advertising flag outside my shop in Dubai?

Advertisements in public view in Dubai generally need a permit and content approval from Dubai Municipality under Decree No. 6 of 2020. Flags inside an exhibition stand or on private indoor premises are usually handled by the venue. Check with Dubai Municipality or your free zone authority before placing flags on public land.

When should I order flags for UAE Flag Day and National Day?

UAE Flag Day falls on 3 November and National Day on 2 December. Demand for car, hand and pole flags peaks in the weeks before both, so place bulk orders in October to keep your preferred delivery date.

What artwork file should I send for flag printing?

Send a vector file such as AI, EPS or PDF, or a high-resolution image at the final flag size. Keep text and phone numbers away from the pole sleeve and the edges. If you only have a logo, our design team can prepare the layout.

Can I order just one flag?

Yes. Single flags are fine for a shop front or a one-off event, and bulk pricing applies when you order larger quantities for a campaign or a national holiday.

Do you deliver outside Dubai?

We deliver across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. For Sharjah, Ajman and the northern emirates, ask when you order and we will confirm delivery.
